Exhibitions : Far Beyond Driven by Peter Smith
I have dug deeper than ever to bring you my latest works driving myself beyond what i thought was possible, into an almost parallel world exposing my dreams and fears for the world to see. Over the last 18 months my preception of myself has change, art has allowed me to finally express my inner emotional turmoil through dealing with subjects like isolation, aspirations and family life - areas which affect us all - and the struggle to bring these feelings to the canvas. Oil paint is thrown around in an aggressive manor in my studio, almost a direct opposite to my moody concentration in getting accurate lines and circles in a piece - obession if you like - but each gives my work a passion thats difficult to pigeon hole but easy to relate to. The houses come from my need of stability offering a sanctuary of comfort, the hearts from my desire to feel part of a family and the special bond of love, the rings become my body depicting my struggle with life and my artwork.
