Angela Smyth is the youngest child of an Irish family. Her passion for art was passed on to her by her late father Patrick, who taught her to draw shire horses by the age of 4.
She has no professional training, and her beautiful, often quirky, sometimes touching images have been used on many cd covers, in magazines & for commercial work. She has undertaken many private commissions and her original canvases & boards are becoming increasingly collectable. Angela’s work is in many Galleries across the UK, and in private collections both at home and abroad.
Angela works in mixed media and sizes range from small boards to huge canvases. She is particularly influenced by the vibrant styles of the 1950’s giving a strong retro feel to many of her paintings.
Much of her work includes images from around her house and the surrounding area, animals that wander past her window and people she sees in the street in everyday situations.
Angela’s originals are in constant demand, with some available on request.
Based in Yorkshire, Angela is represented by Cheshire Art Agencies. She still likes to draw horses..........
