Most dedicated Artists work towards a particular objective; at the moment Darren seems to be perfecting his already astonishingly realistic techniques. He can draw or paint anything; his portfolio includes figurative work, ballet, still life, interiors, animals, landscapes and sport. Darren has also been appointed official Artist to the Professional Footballers Association.
One glance at Darren’s work is sufficient to realise that his main influence derives from 17th century Northern Europe, especially from the Great Dutch period and the interiors of Vermeer. In the world of modern Art that seems to focus on unmade beds, tents and elephant dung this makes Darren an oddity for which he remains very unapologetic.
His work is highly collectable because there is no mystery about it, every piece is executed with artistic brilliance; all immaculately rendered in either pastel or oil paint.
