Mark’s career as an Artist started on the steps of York Minster where he painted canvases inspired by the works of the ‘Old Masters’, re-capturing these incredible images in his own style. Mark soon acquired a license for his own stall and began to reproduce his own prints taken from originals. This led to the opening of Mark and his wife Ann’s Gallery, where Mark is the resident Artist.
Captivated by the vibrant colours used by the impressionists and his passion for the ‘Old Masters’ of the Renaissance, Mark has been inspired to paint classical figures with a contemporary twist.
In his exciting and atmospheric images, Mark now uses intense light, shadow and colour to create depth and feeling in his distinctive yet beautiful images.
