Painting and drawing has been an overwhelming passion for Barbara for as long as she can remember, she had always wanted to follow a career as an Artist and feels contented and fulfilled when she is working on a subject, or planning the next one. Barbara is a well-established Artist with an impressive list of awards and exhibitions.
Her use of rich pastels and imaginative application of form and texture give her work immense warmth and intensity. Barbara takes her inspiration from the landscape, capturing the rhythms and patterns of coastal and hill regions. Devon, Wales, the South Downs and the Isle of White have always been inspirational places for Barbara.
Barbara believes ‘a painting must speak with more than one voice to many people. It must reflect the Artist’s emotions, evoking a response in the viewer. The Artist must recreate with imagination and warmth, using colour, space and texture’.
