Brought up in a motorsport orientated family, Michael competed professionally in both circuit racing and rallying. He had driven in over 20 international rallies throughout Europe, before his successful career was prematurely brought to an abrupt end following a number of major accidents.
Michael still maintained an interest in the sport, working as a journalist and photographer for a number of motorsport magazines, which in turn led to the development of his hobby of painting. Gradually, his self taught style improved and commissions from competitors and enthusiasts increased; his new hobby soon turned into a career.
Michael’s background has enabled him to produce action packed paintings capturing the uniqueness and individuality of the exciting world of motorsport.
